Who? What? Where? When? Why?

The longest driver (women and men) will be determined at the German Long Drive Championship. Besides the sportive competition, participants and spectators can look forward to a varied supporting programme and will get to know the sport of golf from a totally new and different perspective – true to the motto sports, show & party.

On August 18th, 2018 within the final four of the KRAMSKI Deutsche Golf Liga presented by Audi. The check-in starts at 9 am, the competition begins at 10 am.

If you play on a recognized Long Drive Tour (e.g. World Long Drive Association, Long Drive Euorpean Tour etc.) you can also participate in the German Long Drive Championship.

Apart from that you should be able to hit at least 250 meters (men) and 190 meters (women).

Yes, the registration closing date is August 10th, 2018 at 6 pm. Participants, who do not apply within the registration period, can be accepted at the tournament committee’s discretion.

The maximum number of participants is 150 men and 50 women. The tournament committee reserves the right to assign wild cards to certain players. If there are more registrations than available grids, the date of the registration is decisive.

You can send your registration form directly to Nina (nina@germanlongdrive.de). A confirmation will be sent to each participant by mail.

Yes, registration is subject to a handling fee of €50.00, reduced rate of €25.00 € for persons aged up to 18.

In the qualifiying round an overall ranking of the longest drives (out of a determined number of attempts) of each participant will be generated. The best players will qualify for the next round: 39 men (plus 1 wild card / qualification spots) will enter the main round and 16 women will qualify for the round of the last sixteen. The round of the last sixteen for the women will only be played if there are at least 40 players in the qualifying round. Otherwise, the quarterfinals directly follow with the best 8 players.

In the main round the remaining players will be separated in groups. The players of each group will compete against each other; the best two players of each group will qualify for the next round of the last sixteen.

The round of the last sixteen, the quarterfinals, the semifinals and the final will be played as match play: man vs. man / woman vs. woman. Here you can find a depiction of the mode of competition.

For many of you the range will be long enough 😉 Of course for some balls by the professional longdrivers the range might be to short and we will not be able to see the landing position. This will not be a problem as the distances will be solely measured by Trackmans and shown on screens.

The title German Long Drive Champion will be awarded to the winner (woman & man).

Prize money (pros):

Men
1. place: 2.500 €
2. place: 1.500 €
3. place: 1.000 €

Women
1. place: 1.000 €
2. place:     750 €
3. place:     500 €

Amateurs, who will be ranked among the first three places, receive material prizes of 750 € (1. place), 500 € (2. place) and 250 € (3. place). This distinction between prize money (pros) and material prizes (amateurs) is due to the fact of the golf amateur statutes. Apart from that, the winners receive a cup.

Additionally, the winner of the men’s category gets a spot for the World Long Drive Championship.

Of course, your sport equipment is the most important 😉 There are several food and drinking booths on or rather close to the driving range. You can hit some balls before the competition free of charge on the driving range, too.

The winner ceremony will take place at approx. 7:30 pm. Afterwards, there will be a big party with all participants and spectators! Don’t miss it 😉

Actually not. If you still have a question, please feel free to get in touch with us. And keep in mind: HIT IT HARD!

“Last year’s event showed that the format was widely applauded by the participants and spectators. There was a great atmosphere at the driving range and we would like to top it. We are glad, that well-known companies e. g. J.Lindeberg, HIRZL and Golf.de (biggest golf online portal of Germany) are again part of the German Long Drive Championship and will contribute to a successful event.”
